Kerridges in Needham market was one of the countries oldest family run car dealerships, with four generations of the Kerridge family running the business, from its foundation in 1906 until October 2022 when the doors closed for the final time.

During its 116 year existence Kerridges had a rich history in Needham Market, the small Suffolk town it was based in from its inception. Originally founded by Dan Kerridge as a bike shop, the firm soon moved their focus from two wheels to four, providing a variety of services from car sales, repairs, and a fuel station. At one stage even running its own bus service!

Kerridges sold and supported a wide variety of marques during its time, and is probably best known as a British Leyland, Austin Rover and latterly as an MG Rover dealership, holding a franchise until the demise of MG Rover in 2005. It was also an early adopter of the the Chinese made MG Motor UK cars, selling and servicing them in latter years.

As well as selling and maintaining bread and butter cars, Kerridges also gained a reputation for sports and performance vehicles, with the company holding a TVR franchise throughout the car marques heyday in the 1990’s and early 2000’s. Kerridges also added the supercar beating Noble brand to its roster during this time. Latterly selling a wide selection of classic and other performance vehicles.

Reeman Dansie are pleased to offer for sale by auction a selection of tools, parts, memorabilia and other items directly from Kerridges. This diverse sale of almost 200 lots includes many scarce items such as TVR parts and signage, MG Motor UK specialist tools and general workshop tools and garage items including a 2600kg Brian James Trailer and a two post lift.

The sale will commence on Friday 12th May and conclude on Monday 29th May. All of the lots will be illustrated and the full catalogue will be available to view online, with viewing available by appointment on the morning of Saturday 20th May.

The varied and interesting array of items on offer mean viewing the sale is a must for any car enthusiast!
