In 2008 we held a dedicated sale of the Estate of William Tallon (butler to the Late Queen Mother). The success of the William Tallon sale which realised £440,000 established Reeman Dansie as the foremost auctioneer of Royal Memorabilia. Since that time we have held two Royals sales each year and have gained an unrivalled reputation for selling Royal letters, Christmas cards, presentation items, jewellery, signed photographs and other Royal items. With a mailing list of over 700 worldwide collectors, our Royal sales continue to achieve phenomenal hammer prices.
Our specialist James Grinter is widely recognised as an expert in this field and is regularly consulted by the media, including daytime television, to give advice on Royal related collecting. He has significant experience in cataloguing large collections, as well as single items of Royal memorabilia which have been specifically sent to us from all over the world. James has the expertise to appreciate the importance of smaller items within Royal collections (such as Princess Diana’s school rubber which sold for £500) and identify how best to sell these items.
Our Royal sales are auctioneered on day one of our two day Fine Art and Antiques in June and November and typically comprise around 200 lots or Royal related items. Recent star lots have included a consignment from the Estate of Oonagh Toffolo, Lady Diana’s spiritualist, including an iconic shawl, gifted to Princess Diana by Iman Abdul Qadir during her 1991 State visit to Pakistan and immortalised in press photos of that time. It sold in our 2017 November Royalty auction for £16,000
