Presenting our eagerly awaited November Fine Art sale. This gargantuan sale, comprised of over 1600 lots will be sold across three days on Tuesday 11th, Wednesday 12th and Thursday 13th of November.
Day one includes our dedicated bi-annual sale of Royalty related items, featuring Royal ephemera, gifts, Christmas cards, a piece of the Late Queen Elizabeth II’s wedding cake and a fine collection of personal items from the Estate of The Major Sir John Griffin, K.C.V.O., press secretary and equerry to the Late Queen Mother. Ceramics and silver follows in the sale on Tuesday and the day concludes with jewellery and watches, offering plenty of opportunities for early Christmas gift purchases.
Wednesday’s auction commences with Clocks and Barometers, and then continues with Works of Art, including a fine collection of Old Master engravings from the Estate of renowned collector Henry Potter Stevens (1875-1965). The auction continues with our Pictures section, featuring a group of works by the famed equestrian artist Lucy Kemp-Welch (1869-1958) and an extensive collection of hunting prints by Snaffles. The day concludes with a selection of fine quality antique Furniture and Rugs.
Thursday is given over to the long awaited sale of the Weeks Collection, removed from Moat House, Monewden. This wonderfully curated connoisseur collection includes an eclectic range of furniture and furnishings, including pre-history and antiquities through to 17th, 18th and 19th century vernacular, all seamlessly married with 20th century modern British art, sculpture and Studio ceramics. Antique garden furniture and sculpture concludes the collection, completing what will be our most ambitious sale of the year.
This really is not a sale to be missed and viewing this Saturday morning from 9am-1pm, Monday from 9am-6pm and the days of sale, is highly recommended.
