Jewellery features in all of our live sales and also in periodic timed sales. We regularly feature 150-200 lots of general jewellery, costume jewellery and group lots in our Homes and Interiors sales, our quarterly Collector’s sales include a jewellery and silver section overseen by our specialist Georgina Vince and usually comprise 200-300 lots of individual jewellery pieces and groups with a particular emphasis on modern design and designers.
Our principal jewellery sales are included in the first day of our bi-monthly Fine art sales and are curated by our expert Marc Winter; Marc has over twenty-five years experience in the auction business, with an extensive knowledge of jewellery and he regularly undertakes jewellery valuations for insurance and probate. Where it will benefit a jewellery item or add value, Marc will arrange scientific analysis of gems and certification of stones.
Our Fine Art sales feature 200-300 lots of antique and contemporary jewellery, our jewellery counter is usually the busiest area of the saleroom during our bustling auction view days. Recent department highlights include a Roman gold and intaglio ring which sold for £46,000 in 2023 and a 3.3 carat diamond single stone ring which sold for £23,000.
