Princess Helena of Waldeck and Prymont, Duchess of Albany (1861-1922), (wife of Queen Victoria's son Prince Leopold Duke of Albany, mother to Princess Alice Countess of Athlone and Charles Edward Duke of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha) five handwritten letters with envelopes dated between 1896-1908 to The Hon. Mrs Halford, mostly thank you letters for gifts but also discussing the sadness of the death of Prince Henry of Battenberg and the effect of it on Queen Victoria and Princess Beatrice. She also describes life at Osborne at Christmas and Queen Victoria in good spirits enjoying her grandchildren over the festive season.
