Shelia Hawkins (1905 - 1999) Two charcoal portraits of John Gregory, the first framed, 57 x 49cm. John Gregory dancer, choreographer, writer and artist who along with his wife Barbara Vernon founded Harlequin Ballet Company which initially was based in Chelsea, but relocated to West Kensington, London W14. His career had started as an actor in Norwich where he met Edward Seago with whom he went on to work with and travel to America. John wrote the book "Days with Ted" which includes Edward Seago, ballet pictures. Sheila Hawkins was an illustrator and artist whose work was known to many generations of children in Britain, America and her native Australia. She illustrated about 50 children's books, 10 of which she also wrote. She was one of the illustrators chosen for the first Puffin books
