Hearts abound, from the enchanting Edwardian diamond, pearl and enamel brooch (lot 445) and a charming heart-shaped amethyst pendant (lot 406) to a sparkling heart-shaped brilliant-cut diamond ring (lot 520).

Rich in symbolism, the sale also features serpentine jewels representing eternal love (lots 401 and 475), ivy motifs for fidelity and loyalty, and turquoise jewels inspired by the forget-me-not (lot 457).
Romance continues in the picture section, where lots 1137 and 1159 perfectly capture the Victorian love of sentiment and romance.
Harry Becker was born in Colchester in 1865 to German parents Henrietta and Charles. His father Charles, who served as a field surgeon in various campaigns including Crimea, was drafted to Colchester in 1856 and there they settled.

A charming and historically significant letter written by A. A. Milne to his longtime collaborator and illustrator E. H. Shepard, revealing a previously unseen glimpse into the creative world of the Pooh books, will be offered for sale by Reeman Dansie auctioneers of Colchester on the 18th of March.
