Collection of Richard Thomas Shannon (1931-2022) to feature in our February Fine Art auction.

R. T. Shannon was an academic and historian and a leading authority on William Ewart Gladstone. He was born in Fiji and studied at The University of Auckland, completing a PhD at Gonville and Caius, Cambridge. He taught Modern History at Auckland and The University of East Anglia and was appointed Professor of Modern History at The University of Wales in 1979.

His eclectic collection of furniture, pictures and works of art embodies a deep-rooted understanding and passion for history and politics. Many of the present lots were acquired from London Auction Houses and antiques shops and all were beautifully presented in his central London residence a short walk from Regents Park. The collection will be sold in our forthcoming Fine Art and Antiques sale on the 14th and 15th February.
We are delighted to hold our summer Classic Car & Automobilia Sale on Saturday 20th June. Here are some of the other entries and we are accepting further entries until late May. For further details, please contact James Grinter or Lewis Rabett on 01206 754754.
A spectacular time capsule of an infamous moment in Suffolk’s history is on offer in our forthcoming Fine Art sale on the 8/9 April and it promises to reinvigorate a murder mystery which has beguiled the public for almost 200 years.
