For clients unable or not wishing to attend our sale we are happy to accept absentee bids. Absentee bids can either be left in person with our office team, phoned or emailed to us. We simply require lot numbers and descriptions and the maximum bid which you wish to leave. Absentee bids are then transferred to our auction pages and the auctioneer will bid on your behalf. If the lot can be purchased at a lower price than your maximum bid our auctioneers will always endeavour to work in your interest to purchase the lot for you as cheaply as other bids will allow. If the same bid is left by two people on a lot we will precedence to the bidder who leaves the bid first.
We are happy to provide condition reports for online and absentee bidders and to supply additional photographs on any lot. We ask that condition report requests are submitted at least 24 hours prior to the sale. (Whilst every care is taken to give an accurate condition report, we accept no responsibility for any omissions or errors in our reports. It is the buyer’s responsibility to view the lots and satisfy themselves as to their condition.)
We are happy to accept phone bids for our Fine Art and Collectors’ sales. Phone bids may be arranged in person with our office team, by phone or by email. We simply require the lot number and details of the lots which you wish to bid on and contact phone number / numbers. Our phone bidders will call in advance of your chosen lot / lots and bid on your behalf during the sale.
Telephone bids must be booked by 4pm the day before the sale but can be arranged earlier, we have limited lines and certain lots can be over-subscribed for phone bidding, in such instances we conduct a first come, first served basis and we encourage clients to book well in advance or risk being disappointed.
Auction: Specialist Collectors', 12th Jun, 2025
Reeman Dansie is pleased to present the catalogue for its latest Specialist Collectors’ auction. With the usual eclectic mix and range of estimates, there is something to suit all tastes and budgets. This major summer event promises an exciting and diverse offering, with over 2,100 lots set to go under the hammer across three days. Please note: the auction will commence at the earlier time of 9am on Wednesday 11th June.
The sale begins with the Silver, Jewellery & Watches section, with over 300 lots to include everything from Scandinavian pieces by David Andersen (lot 227, £300-500), to Victorian gold pocket watches (lot 87, £800-1200). We continue with Coins & Banknotes: a very rare silver pattern Half Crown of Charles I is one of the highlights of the section (lot 435, £1000-1500), which also includes a selection of gold sovereigns and Krugerrands. Medals and Militaria follow, in which the usual fine selection of firearms, medals, and bladed weapons can be found. Notable lots in the section include a Georgian cannon barrel flintlock pistol by Lord, Dublin (lot 708, £300-400). The day concludes with Ceramics & Glass, which includes a good collection of Swarovski Crystal, including many annual editions (lots 1069-1099).
Day two of the sale will start at the earlier time of 9am, and opens with Ephemera & Stamps, to include autographs by the likes of David Bowie and Jimi Hendrix (lots 1215 and 1216). The Book section follows, which includes a wide range of antiquarian and modern lots, including a limited edition publication of The Complete Works of Count Tolstoy, published in 1904 (lot 1364, £500-700). We finish the day with a large Toy section, to include a wonderful single-owner collection of model vehicles and other toys by Corgi, Dinky, Matchbox, etc (lots 1500-1713). The final day of the sale commences with Vintage & Designer Clothing & Accessories, in which a selection of three Louis Vuitton handbags are sure to attract plenty of interest (lots 2050-2052). Cars & Automobilia will follow, and we’re pleased to be offering two cars for sale: a 1972 MGB GT and a 2006 Range Rover (lots 2150 and 2151, both £4000-5000). A good selection of LP records and musical instruments feature prominently in the Music & Entertainment section, with Cameras and Miscellaneous lots to follow. Highlights here include a selection of Mont Blanc pens, and an original vintage 'K6' red telephone box (lot 2536, £400-600). The sale concludes with a collection of vintage and modern comics, to include DC Comics Batman (1973) #251, featuring the classic Joker cover by Neal Adams (lot 2800, £200-250).
